Ozone catalyst: a green tool for printing and dyeing wastewater treatment

Printing and dyeing industry is a major industrial wastewater discharge, its wastewater has complex composition, high chroma, difficult to degrade and other characteristics, traditional treatment methods are difficult to meet the increasingly strict environmental requirements. The introduction of ozone catalyst provides an efficient solution for the treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater.
The main pollutants in printing and dyeing wastewater include dyes, auxiliaries and heavy metals, among which dyes are the most difficult to treat. These pollutants not only cause water eutrophication, but also cause cancer, teratogenesis and other hazards. The traditional biological treatment method has poor chroma removal effect, and the chemical oxidation method has some problems such as high cost and secondary pollution.
Ozone catalyst can effectively degrade organic pollutants by catalyzing ozone decomposition to produce hydroxyl free radicals. At its core are the active components of the catalyst, usually transition metal oxides or precious metals. Under the action of catalyst, the efficiency of ozone decomposition is increased by 3-5 times, and the concentration of hydroxyl radical is significantly increased. Taking a printing and dyeing enterprise as an example, after using ozone catalyst, the COD removal rate of wastewater increased from 60% to more than 85%, and the chroma removal rate reached 95%.
Ozone catalyst is mainly used in two aspects in the treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater: one is pretreatment, which is used to improve the biodegradability of wastewater; The second is in-depth treatment, which is used to remove refractory organic matter and chroma. A printing and dyeing park adopts ozone catalytic oxidation process, and the effluent COD is stable below 50mg/L, and the chroma is less than 10 times, which fully meets the emission standard.
